Lowes Employees Give Back

Lowe’s Heroes employee volunteers joined forces with the 8twelve Coalition on both October 27th and 28th working alongside residents and partner organizations.

Lowe’s volunteers converged into the 8twelve Coalition target area beginning at 9 am – despite the unyielding weather conditions.  They worked on projects at the Maring-Hunt Public Library, Ross Community Center, a Habitat build site, Muncie Mission, Jefferson Street Pocket Park, and down South Walnut Street.

“Our partnership with Lowe’s is an amazing one! We are so thankful for the many ways they support the work of the 8twelve Coalition and our partners,” said Jena Ashby, Director of Impact and Programs for Muncie Habitat. “These Lowe’s Heroes where not detoured by the cold or the rain, even though we laugh that Lowe’s Days usually means it will be 90 degrees and sunny!”

Lowe’s, a FORTUNE® 500 home improvement company, has a 50-year legacy of supporting the communities it serves through programs that focus on K-12 public education and community improvement projects. Since 2007, Lowe’s and the Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation together have contributed more than $250 million to these efforts, and for more than two decades Lowe’s Heroes employee volunteers have donated their time to make our communities better places to live. We are thankful for the many wonderful employees, Lowes’ community investment, and the many local partners who helped make this year’s build a great success.
