The Muncie Habitat for Humanity Homeowner Application is open until 4pm Friday December 17th, 2021. No application submissions will be valid after this deadline. You may pick up applications in person at our main office (1923 S. Hoyt) or click the link below to have an application mailed to you.

Habitat’s homeownership program serves hard working families with income levels 30-60% of AMI (area median income), which equates to an income range of $19,350-$38,700 for a family of four. Muncie Habitat ensures that families selected for homeownership will pay less than 30% of their income on housing costs.

Families who partner with Habitat are not ‘Recipients’ of services – they are true partners in the process. The path to homeownership for many families who partner with Habitat can be a 9-18 month process. During that time, the family is attending education classes (home maintenance, mortgage loan process, budgeting, etc.) to equip them for successful homeownership. Partner families also invest significant hours, along with family and friends they invite to join them, working at the construction site to help build their home (sweat equity). Families also save for a down payment on the home, and sign a no-interest mortgage for the appraised value of the home.
