Resident Leaders who plan their respective neighborhood association spring and fall cleanups, in cooperation with the Muncie Sanitary District, spearheaded the idea of creating ‘Dumpster Days’ to coincide with the cleanups.

For the past few years, the 8twelve Coalition has helped make this possible.  The dumpsters (usually around 10 in total) are placed around the neighborhoods during the week preceding the cleanup.  Residents can then discard items all week long prior to working together on the cleanup days!  The combination of these events happening together has greatly increased the tons of refuse removed from South Central and Thomas Park/Avondale neighborhoods each spring and fall and neighbors get to work together to make that happen.
