November 5, 2014 – Muncie, IN – Greater Muncie Habitat for Humanity board member Pat Botts received the 2014 Fisher Governance Award at the Muncie Delaware County Chamber of Commerce’s 120th Annual Meeting on October 30th. The award recognizes his outstanding service as a board member whose planning and oversight skills have contributed to the achievement of the organization’s mission, financial stability, and general effectiveness.
Botts joined the Habitat for Humanity board in 2002 and has served as an important resource to the organization, walking alongside staff in navigating new mortgage and lending regulations that resulted from the housing and foreclosure crisis. He has helped the organization explore new and creative solutions to securing funding by providing leadership for the launch of Habitat’s ReStore retail operation. He has also assisted Muncie Habitat in implementing a program to generate capital funding using a portion of the organization’s loan portfolio. Botts has been an enthusiastic participant in the development of three strategic plans for the organization, including Habitat’s 2008-2013 plan which boldly put forth the challenge for Habitat to double its impact in the community over a five year period.
“Pat has been an amazing leader on the Muncie Habitat board,“ stated Muncie Habitat’s CEO Lindsey Arthur. “His expertise in banking has strengthened our organization which continues to help us achieve our mission of bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope. We would like to congratulate him on this honor and his dedication to our community.”
