Muncie, IN (April 8, 2020)  Greater Muncie Habitat for Humanity CEO Lindsey Arthur issued the following statement regarding the COVID-19 pandemic:

We hope you and your loved ones are doing as well as can be expected in this unprecedented time. As neighbors, we are called to our collective responsibility to stand in solidarity to do all we can to ensure the health and well-being of our staff, volunteers, supporters and community. We are actively monitoring the COVID-19 situation and taking steps to help keep our office, ReStore and construction sites safe.

Per the Executive Order on April 6, 2020, by Indiana Governor Holcomb, Muncie Habitat ReStore will temporarily close. Recognizing that donations are key to our business, we will be taking pick up requests virtually and over the phone for pick-up at a later date. Call (765) 288-1814 and leave a message or fill out the pick-up form at https://munciehabitat.org/pick-up-form/.

In addition, our main office remains closed until further notice. However, staff members are available by phone or email. It is important to note that Muncie Habitat is still actively seeking applicants who wish to apply to purchase a house with us! Anyone wishing to learn more about our programs or who would like to apply, please send an email to info@munciehabitat.org

For the health and wellbeing of volunteers and staff, all volunteer efforts will be cancelled through April 30, 2020. If you wish to discuss volunteering with Muncie Habitat in the future, please contact Diann Wellman at dwellman@munciehabitat.org

Finally, Muncie Habitat has determined that we will not host our Annual Dream Builder’s Society Breakfast in 2020. Anyone wishing to give a contribution or make their annual pledge payment may do so at www.munciehabitat.org/donate

Our Habitat team is dedicated to our response to this pandemic and have plans to ensure the continuation of services. As much as we wish there was a playbook for our current situation, it has not been written yet. What has been written is the command to love our neighbors and to act with kindness wherever we can. We thank you for the close and loving community that you continue to help us build, and we appreciate your unwavering support.
