Welcome Home in the Midst of Covid-19

We would like to take a second to put the spotlight on one of our many great partner families.

Maggie and her son Maddox are a blessing to Muncie Habitat, and our community. In early October, after months of building sweat equity hours, taking education courses and saving up for a down payment, Maggie walked through the doors of her HOME.

Each Habitat family is tasked with meeting certain requirements for education and volunteer hours before their home dedication, but some go above and beyond. Maggie is always the person that does more than what is expected of her; filling in for other partner families when they can’t join us at the build sites, personally thanking every volunteer that worked on her home and far surpassing her initial service hours goal to name a few examples.

This home is unique because it was donated to Muncie Habitat. The owners wished to see their family home filled with love and laughter once again by a young family. Generous donors that provided vital funds, and volunteers, who tirelessly worked with strict Covid-19 precautions, rebuilt this house into a stable, safe home and beacon of hope in the community.

Congratulations, Maggie and Maddox!! May your home be a forever place of security, happiness, and love.

Below is the prayer presented by Pastor Lezlie McCrory at the dedication.

Thank you, Lord for your faithfulness in this place,
to see this structure through 91 years of life in this place.
You’ve seen this home through Laughter and Tears,
Through children and age
Through fair weather and storms
Through fullness and emptiness
Through deterioration to restoration
Thank you for the souls who have prayed
and the hands that have worked together with Maggie
to make this house her family’s home.
We ask that your peace would be on this house.
May it be a blessing to Maggie and a blessing to this entire area.
May all who enter this door know your welcome
May all who gather in this kitchen find nourishment.
May the bedrooms be a place of rest in times of weariness
May the living room be a place of good fellowship
May all who find shelter under this roof be protected.
And may this family thrive as they root themselves in this place.
