Our Awareness Build event brings together community partners, advertisers, and media outlets to take a proactive step in serving their communities and raising awareness for Habitat’s work. This August, community partners will work alongside Muncie Habitat to build a home for local families in need of decent housing.

Awareness Build teams will spend a day volunteering on the Muncie Habitat home build site, while also raising awareness and funds towards the home’s construction.

The Awareness Build will involve a variety of departments from Ball State University, including the College of Communication, Information, and Media, the division of Marketing and Communications, the Chief Strategy Office, which includes the Office of Community Engagement, and more. Also involved are local media including Indiana Public Radio, Nash FM Radio, Woof Boom Radio, The Muncie Journal, Ball State Public Media, and a half dozen advertising, marketing, and public relations houses including Aspect 6 Creative, The JMetzger Group, McKinley Avenue Agency, Intersection, and Trinity A Marketing.

Help us celebrate the kick-off of Awareness Build with a community lunch on Friday, August 11th at the Thomas Park/Avondale Community Garden, located at 1313 W. 10th St. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come out to see our build sites, meet our future homeowners, and connect with the many community partners and organizations that have made Awareness Build possible.

There are many ways to support Muncie Habitat during Awareness Month: shop and donate at ReStore, volunteer, share our social media posts, or donate to our builds!!
