Muncie Habitat for Humanity has a team of employees who strive to serve their community boldly with their unique skills and diverse backgrounds. Heather joined the Muncie Habitat team in October of 2018 after just having finished her Master’s Degree. “I was specifically looking for a position that used both of my degrees in Accounting and Business Management,” Hines shared. “As the Office Manager I support multiple departments in reaching their goals.”

As the Office Manager, Heather works closely with the other staff members, from assisting with everyday IT, support to ensuring grants are spent properly and on time. “I keep track of grants and payables. I process all the paperwork that comes through Habitat, and I direct visitors to the correct departments,” she explained. “My favorite part of my job is the co-workers, and learning all the things that help make Muncie great.”

For Heather, Habitat’s dedication to ensuring that Muncie continues to be a place of opportunity for local families hits home. “Muncie has a great and rich history,” she said. “It’s a diverse community, that has faced hardship when the factories left.  Added to the generational poverty that is prevalent in certain parts of town – Muncie Habitat is working towards actually making it better, and I am proud to be part of the solution.”
